Online Curriculum Details & FAQ
What's required to get started?
In order to get started after paying for tuition, you must first sign a legal waiver (can be downloaded by clicking here). Please read it carefully before signing, and don't hesitate to reach out with questions if you don't understand any part of it. After receipt of the legal waiver, please allow up to two business days to obtain access to course materials. Once the lessons for the particular belt level you signed up for are sent to you, you will need to dedicate time to practice the lessons on your own, or with a partner (preferable). You will be required to log your training hours and summary of lessons practiced on a google sheet that will be created for you. Each belt level will have a certain number of required training hours before you may test for the next level. While this may seem rigorous, it's an important step in ensuring your belt certificate is earned through legitimate effort.
How do I digitally fill out and sign the legal waiver?
Step-by-step instructions can be found here.
What format is the belt curriculum offered in?
What if the curriculum is confusing, or I don't understand part of a lesson?
Belt tuition includes unlimited email communication to Master Rhonda where any and all San Soo related questions pertaining to the training material or your progress can be answered. Please allow up to two business days for a response. If more assistance is required, you may purchase a 30 minute Google Meet consultation session with Master Rhonda. This is your opportunity to ask any clarifying questions on the material, or ask Master Rhonda to review any of the lessons you've been practicing and provide constructive feedback.

What are the requirements to test for the next belt level?
Prior to testing, all required training hours must be logged and approved by Master Rhonda. It is expected that you have gained mastery over all lessons included in the training curriculum for the belt level that you're testing for. Testing requires either that you record yourself performing the entire belt curriculum in a single video on a training partner, or that you schedule a Google Meet session for live testing. If you do not have a training partner, you may film yourself performing the moves in a shadowboxing format (example). If you do choose to test via the shadowboxing method then it's required that you say each target out loud as you strike, or state the targets in correct striking order prior to shadowing each move. This helps me ensure that you know the proper targets and striking points for each lesson. Your test videos can be uploaded to your Google Drive account and shared with Master Rhonda for review, and scoring.
What if I trained under another Kung Fu San Soo instructor, and I would like to continue my training under you?
This is completely acceptable, however, I will ask for proof of your most recent belt certificate signed by your previous instructor. I will also ask for your instructor's contact information. Once I can verify your rank, you will be allowed to continue your training under Master Rhonda.
